Tracks4Crafts Consortium Meeting in Amsterdam

The T4C consortium meeting took place in Amsterdam on the 29th and 30th of May 2024. On the 29th in the afternoon, we organized a presentation of the research in progress with an exhibition showcasing all of the work we had done so far. Our aim was to highlight our process and how we document this. We divided the group in two, and as we were presenting the research to one group, the other group got a tour of the Waag building. After a presentation on the pilot research so far by Michelle and Karmijn, the consortium partners could try out the current version of the machine hack themselves and ask more questions about our research.

The exhibition in the Makersguild at the Waag showcased the two paths (ethnographic research and hands-on making) of our pilot and how those two are combined in ‘Hacking the machine’. The expo consisted of three tables:

  • one for our haptic/heritage research
  • one for the technical research, with the Axidraw on there for live demonstration
  • and one with the first round of printing from our first toolholder testing session

You can see some impressions from the exhibition below.
